Himachal News: Disaster Management Will Be Included In School Curriculum, Government Formed Committee

Disaster management curriculum has been implemented in all the schools of Himachal Pradesh. A committee has also been constituted by the Himachal Pradesh government to revise the disaster management curriculum. After the heart-wrenching natural disaster that occurred in Himachal Pradesh during the monsoon season last year, a big decision has been taken by the Himachal Pradesh government. All the Important Guidelines have also been issued today on Saturday for organizing various activities related to disaster management curriculum in all the schools of Himachal Pradesh.

As per the notification issued by the Government of Himachal Pradesh, the Disaster Management Committee is going to hold a meeting immediately to prepare the curriculum to be taught in the schools of Himachal Pradesh for the implementation of Disaster Management Curriculum, So that disaster risk reduction measures can be increased in Himachal Pradesh. Secretariat support to the Disaster Management Committee is being provided by DM Cell of Himachal Pradesh Revenue Department.

The Disaster Management Committee is scheduled to submit the final report to the Government of Himachal Pradesh within six months from the date of issue of the notification. Director-cum-Special Secretary Revenue has been appointed Chairman of the Disaster Management Committee. Also, by the Government of Himachal Pradesh, Secretary of Himachal Pradesh School Education Board, Director of Higher Education, Director of Elementary Education, SCERT Solan and State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan have been appointed as members of the Disaster Management Committee. On the other hand, Joint Secretary Revenue has been appointed as member of the Disaster Management Committee. The Member Secretary of the Management Committee is appointed by the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
