Now in Himachal Pradesh, subsidy on a single electricity meter for a domestic electricity consumer has been announced by the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board. Himachal Pradesh government has said that Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission will issue new rates of new electricity slabs in the current financial year. Himachal Pradesh Energy Board has successfully obtained license from Himachal Pradesh Information and Technology Department to link electricity meters of all domestic consumers with Aadhaar numbers.
Himachal Pradesh Energy Department officials said that in order to make cheap electricity available to all domestic consumers, the amount of special subsidy given annually by the Himachal Pradesh government has been increased by more than Rs 500 crore.

According to the new rates in Himachal Pradesh, subsidy of Rs 2.15 will be available on 0 to 125 slabs, no unit will be applicable in this.
On falling in the slab of 126 to 300, electricity rates of Rs 4.17 per unit will be applicable and subsidy will be applicable at the rate of Rs 1.10.
If the electricity bill is in the slab above Rs 300, consumers will get a subsidy of 0.65 paise per unit as per the new electricity rates of Rs 5.22.
Trouble for big cities and landlords of Himachal Pradesh
