There is only one month left for the upcoming G-20 summit to be held in the capital Delhi. Preparations for this summit are in full swing. Meanwhile, South Korea’s Ambassador to India has confirmed the participation of South Korea’s President Yoon Suk Yeol in the summit. Ambassador Chang Jae Bok has said that South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol will attend the G20 summit in September.
He said that our President is coming for the G20 Summit to be held on 9-10 September. We strongly support India’s chairmanship of the G20 this year. We hope that the Summit in September will be the highlight and culmination of the efforts of the Government of India to chair the G20. He also said that during the G20, of course we discuss the economic recovery of the world situation, but we also discuss regional security matters. Therefore, we hope that India will lead the G20 members towards very good results of G20 for peace and contribution.
Significantly, South Korea is celebrating the 78th anniversary of Liberation Day or Independence Day today. South Korea’s ambassador to India recalled his independence. He said that August 15 is the Independence Day for both India and Korea. Therefore, I would like to extend my heartiest congratulations to India and the people of India.
Earlier, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar wished South Korea on Independence Day. He said in his tweet that hearty greetings to the government and people of the Republic of Korea on their National Day. We are confident that our special strategic partnership will continue to grow.
