EAM Jaishankar to visit Uganda, Mozambique next week
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will be on a visit to Uganda and Mozambique from April 10-15 to further strengthen India’s “robust bilateral ties” with the two countries, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement on Sunday.
External Affairs Minister will be visiting Uganda from 10 to 12 April. During the visit, he is expected to hold delegation-level talks with his Ugandan counterpart Gen. Jeje Odongo and call on the country’s leadership and meet other ministers, the statement said.
During the visit, Jaishankar will inaugurate the transit campus of the National Forensic Science University (NFSU) at Jinja. A bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is likely to be signed between India and Uganda on setting up of NFSU’s first campus outside India during the visit.
Jaishankar will also attend the foundation stone laying ceremony of a solar powered water supply project in Uganda. He will also address the Ugandan business and business community and interact with the Indian diaspora, according to a MEA press release.
While Jaishankar will go to Mozambique from 13-15 April. “This will be the first visit by an External Affairs Minister of India to the Republic of Mozambique,” the Ministry of External Affairs said.
