Dharamshala, July 08: Incentives are being provided to the players of Himachal Pradesh on the lines of Punjab and Haryana so that the players can get an opportunity to progress. Youth Services, Sports and Ayush Minister Yadvinder Goma expressed these views on Sunday as the chief guest on the occasion of the closing ceremony of the 16th state level Himachal Pradesh Equipped State Power Lifting, Bench Press and Deadlift Championship for sub-junior, junior, senior and masters in Om Palace located at 42 mile in Rait, Shahpur.

He said that a proposal will be sent to bring Chambi Sports Ground of Rait under Khelo India so that the players can get proper facilities in this ground.

At present, 51 lakh rupees are being spent on Chambi Sports Ground and More funds will also be provided by the Himachal Pradesh government to provide other facilities.

He praised the women of Himachal Pradesh for their enthusiastic participation in this competition. He also announced to give 1 lakh rupees and a power lifting E set to the Power Lifting Association for the successful organization and also distributed prizes to the winners.

Earlier, while welcoming the chief guest, Deputy Chief Whip and Vice President Power Lifting of India and President of Himachal Pradesh Power Lifting, Kewal Pathania said that in the coming time, international level power lifting competition should be organized in Kangra district.

In the three-day competition, 250 men and women from all over the state participated in Squat, Bench Press and Deadlifting competitions. Power Lifting Association honored the chief guest by giving him a memento.

Kangra’s team became champion, Solan remained in second place –

In the team championship, Kangra came first, Solan second and Bilaspur third. Kapil Yadav of Solan was awarded the title of Strong Man while Avantika of Kangra was awarded the title of Strong Woman.

In the 43 kg sub-junior women’s category, Riya of Kangra stood first, Aakriti Rana second and Smriti third. In the 52 kg junior women’s category, Muskan Negi of Shimla stood first and in the 57 kg category, Pooja of Kangra stood first.

In the 63 kg women’s category, Prachi of Kangra stood first, Rashi second while Palak Chaudhary stood third. In the 69 kg women’s category, Kalpana Jaswal of Kangra stood first. In the 93 kg senior men’s category, Vikram of Solan stood first and Deepak of Bilaspur stood second.

Also, in the 105 kg men’s category, Lalit Jaggi of Solan stood first and Aman Thakur of Solan stood second. In the 120 kg men’s category, Ajay Verma of Kangra stood first. In the 83 kg Master-1, Vipin Jamwal of Bilaspur stood first. In the sub-junior 59 kg men’s category, Aditya Awasthi of Shimla stood first, Prajal Sharma of Kangra stood second, while Arnav Agarwal of Shimla stood third.
