Today is the fourth day of Sharadiya Navratri, i.e. today Maa Kushmanda is worshipped. Kushmanda is considered to be the fourth form among the nine forms of Maa Durga. Diseases and sorrows are removed by worshipping Maa Kushmanda. Maa Kushmanda is also known as Ashtabhuja Devi.
Form of the Mother
The form of Kushmanda Mata is considered to be very calm, gentle and charming. She has eight arms, hence she is called Ashtabhuja. In her seven hands, she has Kamandalu, bow, arrow, lotus-flower, Amrit full urn, chakra and mace respectively. In the eighth hand, there is a jaapmala (rosary) which gives all the siddhis and treasures.
Know why Maa Kushmanda is worshipped in another form
According to mythology, when the Tridev thought of creating the universe, there was complete darkness in the entire universe and there was neither any sound nor melody around. In this situation, the Tridev took help from Goddess Durga, after which the fourth form of Mother Durga, Maa Kushmanda created the entire universe. It is said that the Goddess illuminated the entire universe with her dim smile. The face of Maa Kushmanda illuminates the entire universe with its brilliance, so she is known as Adishakti. Maa Kushmanda resides in the Sun world, and her glory is spread throughout the universe. The Sun is also illuminated by her brilliance, and the influence of the mother is felt everywhere inside and outside the Sun world.
How to worship the mother
Get up in the Brahma Muhurta in the morning and take a bath and first purify the place of worship with Gangajal. Spread a yellow cloth on a wooden stand and install the idol of the Goddess. Remember Goddess Kushmanda. The Goddess loves the yellow colour, so offer yellow clothes, flowers, fruits, sweets, incense, lamps, offerings, whole rice etc. during the Puja. Perform the Aarti of the Goddess and offer her food. Recite Durga Chalisa.
