Know why Maa Chandraghanta is worshiped in the third form
Maa Durga took the form of Chandraghanta when the terror of demons started increasing in the world. Also, at that time, Mahishasura was fighting a fierce war with the gods. According to the scriptures, when the terror of the demons started increasing, Maa Durga took the form of Maa Chandraghanta. At that time, Mahishasura wanted to gain the throne of Devraj Indra and wanted to rule the heaven. When the gods became unable to fight Mahishasura, then the gods got upset and asked for help from Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh.
Listening to the gods, all three got angry at Mahishasura and energy came out of their mouths, which gave birth to a power. Lord Shankar gave his trident to that Shakti form, Lord Vishnu gave his chakra, Indra gave his bell, Surya gave his brightness, sword and lion. After this, Maa Chandraghanta killed Mahishasura and protected the gods. Since then, this form of Maa Durga is worshipped in the third form.
