Women and Child Development Department’s exposed: Kaushal Guleria, who killed children of juvenile home by beating them, suspended

Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, June 07 :Kaushal Guleria, superintendent of the Hira Nagar juvenile home in Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla, has been dismissed from service with immediate effect following allegations of beating and other ill-treatment of resident children.

Let us tell you that Prof. Ajay Srivastava, President of Umang Foundation, had written a letter to the Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court on the violation of human rights of children in the juvenile home located in Hiranagar.

Later, considering the letter as a criminal public interest litigation, the Himachal Pradesh High Court issued a notice to the Himachal Pradesh government on May 17.

It is worth noting that some children had also lodged a complaint against the superintendent and other staff in the Juvenile Justice Board of Solan district for beating them.

Children who are victims of criminal cases are kept in the juvenile home run by the Women and Child Development Department of the Himachal Pradesh government. The function of the juvenile home is to reform the children who have become victims of criminal cases and show them the right direction, But in Himachal Pradesh’s juvenile homes, cases of criminal children being beaten and severely injured have come to light.Due to which, children who are victims of criminal cases are escaping from the juvenile home.

No strict action is taken against the superintendents of the juvenile home by the Women and Child Development Department and when the children who are victims of criminal cases run away from the juvenile home, the superintendents of the juvenile home beat them to death.

The most serious thing is that the injured children have complained about the Superintendents to the officials of the Women and Child Development Department many times, But instead of taking action against the Superintendents, the officials of the Child Development Department are not taking action on the complaints of the injured children to save the Women and Child Development Department from getting into trouble. Now, all the officials are bound to be in trouble.
