The reason given by Mayor Surendra Chauhan for sitting outside the office is to make people aware about Shimla Development Plan. Through this initiative, for the next one week, the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Councilors and officers will give information to the people about the construction under the Shimla Development Plan as well as green and core areas through this open platform and also make people aware about the Shimla Development Plan.

While giving information to the media, Municipal Corporation Shimla Mayor Surendra Chauhan said that Shimla Development Plan is going to be implemented in the Shimla city, for which it is very important to provide proper guidance and information to the city residents. This guidance bench has been set up to make people aware and guide them with the help of councilors and officials for the next one week will make people aware about the rules of Shimla Development Plan and the relaxations being given in building construction.

Municipal Corporation Shimla Mayor Surendra Chauhan said that this work is being done so that people do not have to face difficulties due to lack of information regarding Shimla Development Plan. Many times, people wander in the offices due to lack of information, to prevent this, this bench has been installed.
