Dr. Virendra Mohan’s struggling life has been very inspiring. Former MLA Mahendra Singh Sofat said in a social media post, “He left his studies before matriculation and started poultry farming, but soon he realized that this cannot be his destination. Taking inspiration from his elder brother, he started studying again and fulfilled his dream of becoming a doctor.”

Dr. Virendra Mohan did post graduation in psychiatry from PGI and started his practice as a psychiatrist in a small town like Dharampur in the 70s. People were not able to digest the fact that a big doctor was practicing in a small town and people were doubting his success. But he proved everyone wrong with his ability and hard work.

Dr. Virendra Mohan made his small village his karmabhoomi and became a doctor for poor mentally ill. He relieved lakhs of patients from this disease. Former MLA Sofat also said, “There came a time when his identity became the identity of Dharampur. I used to tour the entire state for BJP’s work. During this time, I used to tell people that I am from Dharampur. People would ask, ‘The same Dharampur from Dr. Virendra Mohan?’

Sofat said, “Leaving this world is the truth. People say that a person comes empty-handed and goes empty-handed, but I want to add to this that the account of the good and bad that a person earns with his deeds also goes with him. In my understanding, Dr. Virendra Mohan’s biggest achievement was to provide treatment to the poor. It is good that his clinic will continue to run as usual under the supervision of a qualified psychiatrist. The loss of his departure is not limited to his family, but this loss has been suffered by the entire society.

Dr. Virendra Mohan’s death has caused an irreparable loss to the medical world. His contribution and services will always be remembered.
