Solan, 09 October: A bus of Uttarakhand Transport (UK04PA1716) overturned due to brake failure in Kandaghat. The local police and public reached the spot and took the injured to Kandaghat Government Hospital. After this accident, questions have again been raised on the increasing number of accidents on NH-5. In the last 9 months, 140 road accidents have taken place here, in which 14 people have died and more than two hundred and fifty people have been injured. Not a single day passes without news of an accident between Parwanoo and Kaithlighat.

A passenger travelling in the bus said that the bus was moving at a high speed at the time of the accident and suddenly the brakes failed due to which the bus went out of control and overturned. Currently the administration is investigating the causes of the accident.
