Solan, 21 August: Municipal Corporation Mayor Usha Sharma has got a big relief from the Supreme Court. Just a day before the elections, the Supreme Court has clarified in its recent decision that Usha Sharma will remain the Mayor till further orders.
The government had recently canceled the membership of Mayor Usha Sharma and former Mayor Poonam Grover. They were accused of working against the party. After this decision, the elections for the post of Mayor in Municipal Corporation Solan were postponed which were to be held on 22 August. But just a day before the elections, this decision of the Supreme Court has dashed the hopes of those who wanted to become the Mayor. The decision of the Supreme Court has provided relief to Usha Sharma and Poonam Grover.
After the decision, Mayor Usha Sharma and former Mayor Poonam Grover said that this is a victory of justice. They said that they were working with full honesty and this decision is a victory of truth and justice. Usha Sharma and Poonam Grover said, “This decision gives us and our supporters a sense of justice. We have always stood by the truth and this decision has given us recognition.”
