Union Road and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that the total length of National Highways in the country has increased by about sixty nine percent in the last nine years.
He said that the network of roads in our country has been increasing continuously in the last nine years and there has been a continuous increase in roads in almost every state in India.
India now has the second largest road network after America. Gadkari said that the total length of national highways was about ninety one thousand kilometers in 2013, which increased to more than one lakh forty five thousand kilometers in 2023.
He said that in the last nine years the number of 4 lane national highways has almost doubled and at the same time he also said that in the coming years our target will be to connect every village of India with roads.
