In Retawa village, a father sacrificed his life to save his daughter’s life. Actually, due to torrential rains, the ravine of the village suddenly flooded. The situation was such as if a cloud burst.

Seeing the flood, 48-year-old Amaan Singh along with his daughter Gracie Devi started changing the direction of water near the cowshed. During this, suddenly the fast flow of water started moving towards the father and daughter. The father pushed the daughter. But he himself got caught in the flood. The administration and local villagers launched a search operation for Amaan Singh. After a lot of hard work, the body of Amaan Singh was recovered 6 km away on the banks of the Tons river. At present, it is being assessed what damage has been caused by the flood.

On the other hand, according to unconfirmed information, there has been indiscriminate tree cutting in the area of ​​​​Aanjbhoj in the last few months. Roads have been built to take out tractors at many places. It is also being told that due to the felling of heavy trees, trench-like landslide zones have also been formed in the area. Retawa village is situated in the middle of the Sheelata forest.

Let us tell you that last year there was a lot of destruction in Sirmour during the monsoon season. Apart from loss of life, buildings and fields etc. were hit by floods or landslides. After receiving information about cloudburst like situation in Retawa village, SDM Gunjit Singh Cheema of Paonta Sahib and police officers also reached there. The body of the deceased was recovered on Saturday morning.

On the other hand, SDM Gunjit Singh Cheema of Paonta Sahib told the local news agency that the incident happened around 11 pm on Friday night. The SDM said that usually there was no water in the drain. Due to heavy rains in the upper areas, water suddenly came in the drain with a strong flow. After this, the family was trying to save the cowshed. During this, the deceased Amaan Singh got caught in the water.
