1.46 grams of heroin has been recovered from a youth in Thanikpura under Chintpurni police station of Una district of Himachal Pradesh.

Chintpurni police has arrested the accused and started investigating the case.

The accused was identified as Pankaj Kumar, resident of Ward-3, Gagret Tehsil Amb, District Una.

According to the complete information received from Chintpurni Police, the team of Chintpurni Police Station was on patrol near the Dharamshala of Muktsar Walian in Thanikpura late on Monday evening.

While the policemen were checking the vehicles, a person was coming towards Bharwain on foot from the road at the turn in front of the Dharamshala of Muktsar Walian.

The person got scared after seeing the Chintpurni police teams and turned back and started walking fast. On being suspicious, the Chintpurni police teams stopped him and interrogated him. During this time the person threw a polythene envelope on the roadside.

When Chintpurni police examined the envelope, heroin was found in it. The weight of heroin was found to be 1.46 grams. The Chintpurni police immediately arrested the accused.

DSP Amb Vasudha Sood said that the investigation of the case is going on. The investigation is going on from where the accused was going with the drug consignment.
