Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Lathiani (Una), March 05: A new history has been written by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday by laying the foundation stone of the Lathiani-Mandali bridge of Kutlehar assembly constituency in Una district of Himachal Pradesh, built at a cost of Rs 871 crore, through virtual medium. With the demand of the people of Kutlehar assembly constituency being fulfilled after almost three decades, there has been a complete stop to politics on Lathiani-Mandali bridge. It is noteworthy that when BJP government was formed in Himachal Pradesh in 2017 and Kutlehar got cabinet minister.

At that time, Minister Virendra Kanwar kept discussing with Union Ministers Anurag Singh Thakur and Nitin Gadkari for the construction of Lathiani-Mandali bridge. First got the survey of Lathiani-Mandali bridge done. Then got the DPR prepared. Now the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of Lathiani-Mandali bridge. The process of land acquisition for the construction of Lathiani-Mandali bridge has been completed and the Lathiani-Mandali bridge will be constructed in a modern manner.

If Covid time had not come in the country, Lathiani-Mandali bridge would have been ready: Gadkari

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, in his address in Hamirpur, said that if the country had not spent two and a half years in Covid, the Lathiani-Mandali bridge would have been ready today. Gadkari said that for the construction of Lathiani-Mandali bridge, Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur and former minister Virendra Kanwar worked hard and after meeting several times, insisted on getting the Lathiani-Mandali bridge constructed.

Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur said that for the past three decades, whenever elections were held, Congress leaders used to mislead the public by laying false foundation stones for the construction of Lathiani Mandali bridge. But first we made a provision in the budget for the construction of Lathiani-Mandali bridge. Then the process of land acquisition was completed.
