Una, November 19: A case of assault on a councillor of a municipal council of the Una district by a resident of the ward has come to light. It is alleged that the resident not only beat her up for cleaning but also tore her clothes. Regarding the matter, the police have registered a case against the person on the complaint of the councillor and started investigation.
In the complaint given to the police, the councillor said that on Monday evening, a JCB was called with the help of the JE to clean the street along with a field in the ward. As soon as the JCB driver Anil started cleaning the drain, Swarn Singh came to the spot and started abusing. The councillor alleges that he tried to convince Swarn Singh a lot, but he did not listen and started beating her.
The complainant said that Swarn Singh beat me up and tore my shirt by holding me by the neck. Not only this, he held me by the hair, due to which my earring got lost. Seeing the noise, the councillor’s husband and other relatives came to the spot, who intervened and calmed the matter down.
Sanjeev Bhatia, Additional Superintendent of Police, Una said that on the basis of the complaint, the police have registered a case against the person and started investigation.
