Microblogging site Twitter has removed free blue ticks from verified accounts as per its announcement. The blue ticks have been removed from the Twitter account of those who have not paid for the Blue Tick plan. Musk had announced the removal of the blue tick from the legacy verified account on April 12 itself. He had said that from April 20, the legacy blue tick mark would be removed from the verified account. Musk had said that if Blue Tick is required then it will have to be paid every month.
CM Yogi, Salman-Shahrukh Khan’s blue ticks also removed.

As soon as the new system of Twitter is implemented, the blue ticks of all the celebrities including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan have been removed. Twitter has also removed the blue ticks of Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli. Apart from this, blue ticks were removed from the Twitter accounts of many veterans, including UP Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, BSP supremo Mayawati, BJP state president Bhupendra Singh Chowdhary.

These users got legacy verification badge

Let me tell you, before the acquisition of Elon Musk last year, Twitter verified many accounts which included big personalities like journalists, actors, politicians. Earlier Twitter used to give blue ticks for free without taking any money. Musk believes the badge creates a status symbol, and wants anyone on the platform to be verified for a minimal fee.
