Truck driver's body found in suspicious circumstances in Bilaspur

Bilaspur, September 11: The body of a truck driver was found in suspicious circumstances in Raura Sector of Bilaspur city on Wednesday. Police also found a needle syringe in the truck cabin. Police took the body in custody, registered a case and started investigation.

According to the information, truck driver Lakhveer Singh, resident of village Mehndipur Tehsil Balachaur Punjab, who used to drive a truck in Bilaspur. Lakhveer Singh reached Bilaspur from Punjab with the truck. Due to nightfall, the driver slept in the truck itself. On Wednesday, when his family tried to contact him, his phone was found switched off. After this, the family contacted the truck owner. The owner of the truck driver went to Raura Sector and opened the truck. Lakhveer Singh’s body was found dead inside the truck.

The police reached the spot and took the body in custody and sent it for post-mortem to the District Hospital Bilaspur. The police also found a needle syringe in the cabin of the truck from the spot, due to which the case remains suspicious. The police have registered a case and started investigation, and are awaited for the post-mortem report to confirm the cause of death.
