Una, 08 August: About 25 devotees belonging to Mansa district of Punjab were injured in a tragic road accident near Peer Nigah, a famous religious place of North India, on Thursday morning. The injured were taken to the Regional Hospital for treatment with the help of 108 ambulance. Police reached the spot and started investigating the accident, while Tehsildar Shikha Rana reached the Regional Hospital on behalf of the administration to provide immediate relief to the injured. It is being told that the driver could not control the tractor on the steep slope, due to which the tractor trolley overturned and all the devotees riding in it were badly injured. The number of women and children is being reported to be more among the injured.
The injured have been brought to the regional hospital for treatment, out of which the condition of three is said to be more critical. It is known that the devotees residing in Mansa district of Punjab had reached Naina Devi on Tuesday and after paying obeisance there, reached Peer Nigah on Wednesday. After paying obeisance at the Peer Nigah temple on Thursday morning, all these devotees were returning to Mansa when their trolley lost control and overturned at a short distance from the temple premises. There was no loss of life during the accident, but about two dozen devotees were badly injured, most of whom were women and children.
Medical officers and paramedical staff immediately started treatment at the regional hospital. Health department officials also reached the emergency ward for the treatment of the devotees. On behalf of the administration, Tehsildar Shikha Rana reached the spot and took stock of the situation and she also talked to the injured devotees. The devotees told that the tractor trolley overturned due to losing control on a steep slope, due to which all the people were badly injured.
Tehsildar Shikha Rana told that she had received information about this accident from the field Kanungo, after which she immediately reached the spot. She said that the treatment of all the injured is going on in the regional hospital, no report has been received to send any injured devotee to a big health institution. If the need arises to refer a devotee, he will be provided immediate relief by the administration and sent forward.
