New Delhi: Suzuki Motorcycle India has recalled the Hayabusa GSX1300R due to a defect in the front brake lever. More than 1,000 units of the superbike are affected due to this recall.

Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R sold between April 2021 and September 2024 are part of this recall. According to the Japanese automaker, the play of the front brake lever can become loose, in the worst case the lever can contact the throttle grip and braking distance may increase.

Suzuki sold the third generation model of the Hayabusa in that period. Customers can log on to Suzuki’s official website and check the status of their vehicle using the VIN.

The Hayabusa is powered by a 1340-cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, in-line four-cylinder engine, mated to a 6-speed transmission. The Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R is priced starting at ₹ 16.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

This is not the first time, earlier this year, several other Suzuki two-wheelers were also recalled. In July, select units of the Access, Avensis and Burgman were recalled for faulty electrical components. Similarly, the V-Storm 800 DE was recalled due to rear tyre cracks and deformation.
