There is an atmosphere of complete happiness in Kuthed village after Shabu is selected. Shabu’s father Vijay Kumar is a sheep herder and his mother Jeevana Devi is a housewife.

Father Vijay Kumar told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that Shabu was diligent in studies from the beginning. Shabu completed his schooling from Government Senior Secondary School, Kuthed. For higher education, Shabbu took admission in Himachal Pradesh University and obtained B.Sc. and M.Sc. Zoology.
