Solan, August 23: Solan Police of Himachal Pradesh has arrested the absconding main accused Sudarshan Thapa alias Bobby in the case of assault and attempted murder from Narukheri village of Karnal district of Haryana. Earlier, the police had arrested 11 accused involved in this case and sent them to judicial custody.
The main accused Sudarshan Thapa was absconding since the incident, constantly changing his hideouts to avoid his arrest. He had also changed his mobile phone. The police got information from secret sources that the accused was hiding in Haryana. Based on this information, a team of Solan Police raided Narukheri village and arrested Sudarshan Thapa on 22 August 2024.
After the arrest, the accused is being interrogated. The investigation has also revealed that Sudarshan Thapa has been involved in criminal activities earlier as well. A case of liquor smuggling is also registered against him in Solan Sadar police station. SP Gaurav Singh confirmed that the main accused is being produced in the court. Investigation of the case is going on.
What is the matter
Rajiv Kaushal resident Sunny Side had lodged a report in Police Station Sadar, Solan on August 5, 2024 that on the evening of August 4, he had gone to visit Ashwani Khad with his friends. There he met Sudarshan Thapa and Bhupinder Jaggi. After eating, everyone was returning to Solan. On the way, there was an argument and scuffle with Sudarshan Thapa. After this some boys attacked him and fled.
In the case, the team of Police Station Sadar, Solan arrested 8 accused on August 6, 2024, including Pradeep Sharma alias Sonu, Karna, Kailash, Kamal, Ash Kumar, Tanuj Thakur, Dharmendra, and Arun. The car and other items used in the incident were seized.
The car (HP 14-5721) and scooter (HP14C-9885) used in the crime and the sticks used in the fight were also seized.
