New Delhi: Ayodhya’s Ram Temple Welcomes New Idol Ahead of Consecration Ceremony.

In a significant step towards the much-anticipated consecration ceremony on Monday, the new idol of Lord Ram was ceremoniously placed inside Ayodhya’s Ram Temple yesterday. The unveiling of the first photo of the idol, shared by Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje this morning, showcases the deity as a five-year-old child in a standing posture.

Crafted from black stone by the skilled hands of Mysuru-based artist Arun Yogiraj, the 51-inch idol took its place in the sanctum sanctorum amidst the resounding chants of prayers. Commencing on January 12, the rituals for the temple consecration set the stage for a grand culmination on January 22, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to perform the ‘Pran Pratistha’ puja.

Guided by the expertise of a team of priests led by Lakshmikant Dixit, the main rituals of the Pran Prathistha will unfold on the auspicious day. Ahead of the ceremony, PM Modi has adhered to a strict set of rules and rituals, including sleeping on the floor with only a blanket and consuming only coconut water.

The Prime Minister, in an earnest plea, has urged the public to refrain from visiting Ayodhya on January 22, emphasizing the desire not to cause any disruptions to the divine proceedings. Starting January 23, everyone is welcome to visit.

As a symbolic gesture, PM Modi has encouraged every Indian to light a diya in their homes on January 22. The consecration ceremony itself will witness the presence of over 11,000 specially invited guests from across the country and abroad, hosted by the temple trust.
