The Deputy Commissioner has said that patrolling will be increased in all areas and effective steps will be taken to stop illegal mining in Ponta and Kalaamb areas.

The Deputy Commissioner said that illegal mining will not be tolerated in the district under any circumstances and strict action will be taken against the culprits.

Talking to Diary Times, he said – I had to hold a meeting today in which different aspects related to illegal mining were discussed in great detail and all the stakeholder departments, who are authorized officers under the mining act, were called to the meeting here.

And we requested everyone that all the authorized officers who are there on a regular basis, especially in our Ponta and Kala Amb areas, should form a team with the police and check there on a regular basis.
