Sirmaur girl raped in Shimla, physically exploited for 4 years on the pretext of marriage
Shimla, September 09: A case of rape of a girl from Sirmaur has come to light in the capital Shimla. A young man physically exploited the girl for four years on the pretext of marriage. The accused was initially ready for marriage, but later refused to marry the victim as she belonged to the Scheduled Caste.
On the complaint of the victim, the police have registered an FIR against the accused under various criminal sections including rape. The victim is a native of Sirmaur district. She works in a private job in Shimla and is living in a rented house.
According to the information, the victim met a man named Vineet in the year 2020, which turned into friendship. After this, both of them started meeting each other. The accused proposed marriage to the victim, which the victim accepted. The accused continued to rape the victim under the pretext of marriage. Whenever the victim talked about marriage, the accused would move forward by making some excuse.
The victim alleges that after raping her several times, the accused is now refusing to marry her. Apart from this, he also abuses her and uses casteist words. The victim complained about the accused’s actions at the Shimla women’s police station. The women police took action and registered an FIR against the accused under IPC sections 376 (2), 417 and the SC ST Act on Sunday evening. The police is now engaged in the process of arresting the accused.
