Shimla: Woman and youth arrested with consignment of hashish

Shimla, August 21: Police in the capital have arrested two people including a woman on charges of smuggling hashish. On Wednesday, the Special Cell of the police searched a woman and a youth on suspicion at IGMC near Cancer Hospital and recovered 1.100 kg of hashish from their possession.

The woman arrested is a resident of Karsog in Mandi district, while the youth is a resident of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. The accused have been identified as Indira Devi (53) resident of Karsog district Mandi and Aneesh (42) resident of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

The Special Cell team has handed over both the accused along with the recovered hashish to the Sadar police. Action is being taken against them by registering a case under the NDPS Act.
