Shimla, June 17: Due to the continuously increasing heat in Himachal Pradesh, the shortage of water in water sources is clearly visible.A similar scene is being seen in the capital Shimla due to water shortage.
In many areas of Shimla city, water is being supplied through tankers after a week. Due to which the problems of the people of Shimla city are not reducing.
People in the suburban areas of Shimla city have to wait for a week for water tankers to arrive. The officers of Shimla Jal Prabandhan Nigam are sitting in the office and saying that water supply will start in Shimla city within 2 days in any case.
Mayor of Shimla Municipal Corporation Surender Chauhan said that there is a huge problem of water shortage in Shimla. Water tankers are reaching people’s areas after a week. Due to continuous heat and heatwave not subsiding, a decrease in water level is being seen in water projects.
Surender Chauhan said that by the year 2025, water will start reaching Shimla from the Satluj river, which will put an end to the water problem.
He said that drinking water is being used in the toilets of Shimla city for years. Now the Shimla Municipal Corporation is working on a plan to lay separate pipes in the toilets of Shimla city.
