In Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, a cousin brother raped his minor sister, due to which the rape victim became pregnant.
The accused had been maintaining relations with the victim for a long time by threatening her. Baluganj police teams have registered a case under POCSO against the accused cousin.
According to information received from Baluganj police station in-charge, the rape victim is of Nepali origin. The entire incident took place under Baluganj police station area.

The mother of the rape victim complained to the Baluganj police station in-charge that her minor daughter was taken away by her brother-in-law’s son, taking the responsibility of educating her. He was living with his daughter in a rented room in Shimla city. When his daughter came to him two days ago, she suddenly had pain in her stomach. On being interrogated, the victim told her family that her cousin had intimidated her and had physical relations with her, due to which she became pregnant.
The victim has lodged a complaint against the accused at Baluganj police station.
Baluganj police registered a case and got the victim’s medical done, in which it was confirmed that she was pregnant.
Baluganj police station in-charge said that a case has been registered against the accused under sections 376 (3) and 506 of the IPC as well as POCSO Act and action has been initiated. The accused will be arrested soon and presented in the court.
