The Shimla badminton championship concluded last evening. On the last day of the four-day competition, Shimla MLA Harish Janartha participated as the chief guest.

He said that it is the priority of the government to connect the youth with sports. Harish Janartha said that excellent performance is being done by the youth in sports like badminton in Shimla.

Balwant Jhartha, patron of Shimla district badminton association, said that in this competition, matches of different categories were organized in men and women category and more than two hundred players participated in it. The aim was to attract youth towards badminton.
District Shimla’s badminton competition was from under 11, under 13, 15, 17, under 19 and men – women. This competition was played in different categories in which more than two hundred children participated.
This time we got so many entries from different parts of Shimla district that we had to extend the tournament by one more day. It is a matter of great pleasure for badminton and for sports and for District Shimla Badminton Association that tomorrow we will make this event bigger. do
