Since the Municipal Corporation Shimla of Himachal Pradesh has not received any permission from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in the capital of Himachal Pradesh, now the Municipal Corporation Shimla has started an online system for collecting green fees in the entire capital Shimla. Now Green Fee System Has been implemented Smoothly By An App.

In Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, the process of collection of green fees through road barriers from all types of heavy vehicles coming from outside states has now been made completely online.

Due to lack of approval from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for the process of collecting green fees by installing barriers, Municipal Corporation Shimla is now going to make the entire green fee collection process online in the capital Shimla.

Municipal Corporation Shimla has entrusted the responsibility to a private company to complete the entire online process of green fee collection.

All the officials of Municipal Corporation Shimla along with the private company have taken an important decision to implement the online green fee collection process.

Officials of Municipal Corporation Shimla said that through the presentation of the company, the green fee collection process of all the vehicles entering Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla from outside states using barriers without Municipal Corporation Shimla has now been made completely online.

Along with this, it has been decided to organize a meeting for the second presentation with all the officials of the company in Municipal Corporation Shimla soon.

Officials of Municipal Corporation Shimla said that along with the company’s mobile collection app in the capital Shimla, all types of available options are being used to improve all types of hotels and smart parking systems in Shimla city and to ease the fee collection process. The search is being conducted with the company management.

Officials of Municipal Corporation Shimla expressed hope that from next years the entire process of collecting green fees for heavy vehicles from outside states coming to Shimla city will be started.

During the collection of green fees, the entire fee transferred once will be fully valid for one week only.

With the implementation of the entire scheme which has been going on for five years, Municipal Corporation Shimla will get revenue of twelve crore rupees.

In the year 2012-13, Municipal Corporation Shimla first started the process of offline collection of green fees for all the vehicles entering Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh from outside states, but under the guise of collecting green fees, vehicles were stopped. The heavy barriers installed there created traffic jams day and night, due to which the entire process of green fee collection was stopped.

The Chief Court of Himachal Pradesh High Court had issued guidelines to the Municipal Corporation Shimla to implement such a smart green fee collection system, so that the general public can be warned from any kind of jam.

In view of this, recently an important meeting was organized by the Municipal Corporation Shimla with all the officials of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), but in the meeting, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) did not ask the Municipal Corporation Shimla separately for any (NOC) for construction of this type of lane was refused.

Due to which Municipal Corporation Shimla is laying full emphasis on online system for collection of green fees.

Municipal Corporation Shimla has taken an important decision to make the green fee collection system completely online for lakhs of tourist vehicles coming to Shimla city from outside states every year.

By conducting the entire green fee collection process online, Municipal Corporation Shimla will earn revenue of more than twelve crore rupees every year.

Current green fee rates for vehicles entering Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh –

Vehicles Green Fees
Green fee for two-wheelers – Fifty rupees

Green fee for car – Two hundred rupees

Green fee for buses, tourist vehicles and trucks from outside states -Three hundred rupees

As per the orders of NHAI, now no kind of barrier will be used in the roads of Shimla city to collect green fees in Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. The most important decision taken in the meeting by Municipal Corporation Shimla is to fully implement the online system for collecting green fees. Due to which the entire tender for the green fee collection process has been handed over to a private company.
