Shimla News: Lakhs of rupees defrauded from local people including businessmen in the name of society, accused absconding

Shimla, August 11: Lakhs of rupees have been defrauded in the name of society in Rampur of the capital Shimla. Local people have been made victims of fraud. A society named Pride Co-operative carried out this fraud. The victims have registered a case in Rampur police station. When the fraud came to light, the accused running the society have absconded.
According to the police, Pride Co-operative Society was running in Rampur for the last five years. Businessmen of the city and other people deposited money in this society. But when it came to taking back the money from the society, the owners of the society fled from here without returning the money of the people.
Victims Gopal Singh, Anita, Raveena, Pooja Tamang, Kamala Devi, residents of Dakolar, said that they kept depositing money in Pride Co-operative Society Dakolar on a daily basis. When it came to taking back the money, the people running the society fled. Police have registered a case of fraud against MD Raj Pal of Pride Co-operative Society, resident of village Deha Balson, district Shimla and Anmol Raja Cinema Road, Fazilka Firozpur.
DSP Naresh Sharma has registered a case against two people on Sunday. Information has come to light that the victims have been cheated of about 15 lakhs.
