Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla , March 04: The Asian Rafting Championship-2024 has been inaugurated on the Sutlej River in Pandoa, Sunni tehsil of Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. The Asian Rafting Championship-2024 has been inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Monday from the historic Ridge Ground in the capital Shimla. CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has flagged off all the participants of the Asian Rafting Championship-2024.

On the occasion of the inauguration of the Asian Rafting Championship-2024, CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that for the first time in India, an international rafting competition of such a large scale is being organized on the Sutlej River in Pandoa, Sunni tehsil of the capital Shimla. CM Sukhu said that the successful organization of Asian Rafting Championship-2024 is going to promote adventure sports activities in the entire Himachal Pradesh, especially in Shimla district.

The entire Asian Rafting Championship-2024 competition is being organized till March 9 on the Sutlej River in Pandoa, Sunni tehsil of the capital Shimla. Participants from nine countries including India are taking part in the Asian Rafting Championship-2024 competition. 21 teams in men’s, women’s and mixed categories are going to showcase their talent in Down River Race, RX, Spirit and Slalom.

Shimla District Administration Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that the Asian Rafting Championship-2024 competition is being organized with the full cooperation of the World Rafting Federation and the Tourism Department of Himachal Pradesh Government and Shimla District Administration. He said that the safety and security protocols in the Asian Rafting Championship-2024 competition are being taken care of by the Indian Army.
