Shimla MP Report Card: Development Work Worth Rs 15 Thousand Crores, More Development Is Needed In Adopted Villages
Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 11:Â From Shimla parliamentary seat, sitting BJP MP Suresh Kashyap defeated Congress candidate Dhaniram Shandil by more than three lakh votes. Suresh Kashyap is claiming that he has got work done worth Rs. 15 thousand crores in Shimla parliamentary constituency. However, most of those works are related to power projects and central schemes as well as institutions. Money was released for development in the adopted villages but due to incomplete or non-started work, there is a need for further development. Shimla parliamentary seat consists of 17 assembly constituencies of Shimla, Sirmour and Solan districts. 13 Congress MLAs have won in these assembly constituencies. Three BJP MLAs and one independent MLA have won the elections.

MP Suresh Kashyap has adopted these villages –
In the adopted villages of Kaulawala Bhood and Koti Padhog, Rs. 15 lakh each have been given to each panchayat from MP Land. Around 40 works were put in the shelf in the Panchayat, out of which only 10 works could be started. In the month of January last, Rs 9.5 lakhs were sanctioned for six development works in Koti Padhog village. Their work has not started.

- 1426 Crore Approved for Green Corridor NH 707 Paonta Sahib- Rajwan Shillai-Hatkoti.
- Amount of Rs. 5000 crore approved for Medical Device Park Nalagarh.
- Rs 2614.51 Crore Approved for Sunni Power Project 382 MW.

- Connecting Paonta-Kalaamb with railway line.
- Construction of tunnels in the capital Shimla.
- Providing support price to other crops to benefit the gardeners.
- Provision of additional amount for housing in the hill state.
- Construction of airport in Shimla parliamentary constituency.
MP Suresh Kashyap was not seen in even a single area in five years. The central government ignored the development works of Himachal. Now the public is going to teach them a lesson. The condition of adopted villages is pathetic. Now BJP leaders have started appearing. The MP did not raise the issue with the Center about the damage caused in Shimla parliamentary constituency due to the natural disaster. The public has been given relief by the state government.
