Under the State Government and Chief Minister Sukhashraya Yojana, 4 thousand children have been adopted as ‘Children of the State’. With the aim of providing belongingness, security and protection to orphan and destitute children, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has recently laid the foundation stone of Sukhashray Gram Complex at Luthan in Jwalamukhi Assembly constituency of Kangra. This integrated complex will have capacity to accommodate approximately 400 destitutes along with world class facilities.

Himachal government wants to make farmers self-reliant, so that they can earn good income while staying at home and not run after jobs. Many schemes have been made to provide fair value to the farmers and gardeners for their hard work, these will be announced in the upcoming budget. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said this in an interaction program with Milkfed milk producers at Hotel Peterhof. He said that natural farming is the future of farmers. For this, animal husbandry is necessary. Milk production is the source of income and cow dung is the need of natural farming. Besides, government has increased the price of milk purchase by six rupees and the state government has assured the cattle farmers of fixed income. At a higher price than this, cattle farmers can sell milk in the open market.The remaining milk can be given to societies. Himachal government is going to give tax concession to all milk producers. Chief Minister said that a milk processing plant with a capacity of 1 lakh 50 thousand liters per day is being set up in Dhagwar, Kangra. Properties of goat milk and mountain cow milk are being studied. Himachal Pradesh is going to develop as a green energy state by 2026. The Chief Minister has assured to include all the suggestions received during the dialogue in the upcoming budget.

Secretary of Himachal Animal Husbandry Department, Rakesh Kanwar said that apart from cattle farmers from 9 districts, representatives of Gaddi and Gujjar communities were present in the dialogue program with milk producers.

On the occasion of the program, Principal Media Advisor to the Chief Minister Naresh Chauhan, Principal Advisor Ram Subhag Singh, Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap, Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Gandhi, Director Information and Public Relations Rajeev Kumar, Director Animal Husbandry Pradeep Sharma and all other officers were present.

Demand for loan to buy animals –

Milk producer Tularam Sharma of Rampur has demanded to reduce the price of feed given by Milkfed, to start the facility of insurance of cows and to provide good quality semen.

Om Prakash of Ani suggested increasing the price of milk in proportion to inflation, Vikas Sarin of Nagrota suggested providing loan facility to buy good varieties of animals, Vinay of Palampur suggested purchasing cow milk at Rs 50 and buffalo milk at Rs 70 per kg, Beas Kamdhenu. K JR Kaundal has demanded to give incentive amount to the cattle rearers.

Sunita of Nadaun has expressed gratitude for increasing the purchase price of milk.

Demand for subsidy on animal feed –

Reena Thakur, a milk producer from Kullu district, said that after the increase in milk purchase price by Rs 6 per kg, her monthly earnings have increased by Rs 3,600. Earlier their 20 liters of milk was sold daily for Rs 620, now it is sold for Rs 740. The earning in the first month was Rs 18,600, now the earning is Rs 22,200. Reena has raised the demand for subsidy on animal feed.

The Chief Minister said that the Sukhashray Gram complex is going to have an e-library, hospital, wellness centre, prayer room, temple, common room, multipurpose departmental store, vocational training center and park.

Apart from this, quality facilities related to table tennis, badminton, yoga, swimming pool, play station, gym and other indoor and outdoor sports will be available in Sukhashray Gram complex.

Separate shelters will be built for children, women and elderly people in Sukhashray Gram complex. For the happy life of orphan children, pocket money of Rs 4,000 per month, facility to stay in 3 star hotel during annual trip, necessary funds for education, festive allowance and other facilities are being provided.

As a result of the implementation of Mukhyamantri Sukhashraya Yojana, Himachal has got the distinction of being the first state in the country to enact a scheme for orphan children in law.

The Chief Minister said that facilities like smart boards equipped with touch technology, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, music rooms, recreation rooms and medical rooms are being developed in child protection institutions.

Under the Chief Minister Sukhashraya Yojana, during this financial year, Rs 2 crore 15 lakh 37 thousand have been distributed to 1,084 dependents of child protection institutions, Rs 4 crore 34 lakh 88 thousand have been distributed as pocket money per month to 2,718 orphan children. Financial assistance of Rs 28 lakh 30 thousand 707 has been provided to 48 beneficiaries pursuing higher education and Rs 26 lakh 95 thousand 994 to 17 beneficiaries receiving vocational training.

Additionally, Rs 6 lakh was provided to the beneficiaries for start-ups.
