Himachal News: Trains Delayed On Kalka-Shimla Track Due To Fog, Passengers Standing For Several Hours Waiting For Trains
Dense smog in India’s Punjab, Haryana as well as in the capital New Delhi is affecting the trains running on the world heritage Kalka-Shimla railway line. Along with Shatabdi Express coming from India’s capital New Delhi, all other major trains are reaching Kalka Junction with continuous delay. Due to continuous delay in trains reaching Kalka Junction, most of the trains from Kalka to Shimla are also being departed late. Due to this, trains are arriving late by about one hour to 2.19 hours on the Kalka-Shimla railway line.

Due to continuous delay in arrival of Rajdhani Shimla trains, trains from Shimla Railway Station to Kalka Junction are continuously getting delayed. Even on Wednesday, most of the trains coming from New Delhi reached Kalka Junction late. Due to continuous delay in arrival of trains, tourists from outside states have to stand and wait for several hours at the railway stations of Himachal Pradesh.
These days, fog is affecting trains the most in the outer states. Due to fog, the maximum impact is being seen on the speed of trains. Along with all the trains coming from the capital New Delhi, the connecting trains are also going late towards their respective destinations. In the coming days also, till January 5, all the trains will be running packed continuously. Due to which there is a long waiting list for online tickets in trains.
Due to dense fog, all these trains are continuously getting late –
Shivalik train, which leaves for Shimla Railway Station at 5:45 am on the World Heritage Kalka-Shimla Railway Line, will leave at 8:04 am. Apart from this, train 52453, which leaves at 6:20 am, is also leaving at 8:30 am, train 52459, which leaves Kalka Junction at 7:00 am, is leaving at 8:55 am. At the same time, Himalayan Queen train is leaving at 12:25 pm instead of 11:55 am and 04515 Holiday Special train, which runs at 12:20 pm, has also left from Kalka Junction at 2:00 pm towards the capital Shimla Railway Station.
All the trains running on the World Heritage Kalka-Shimla Railway Track have been connected with the trains coming to Himachal Pradesh from outside states. These days, due to heavy fog in the outer states, almost all trains are reaching Kalka Junction late. Due to which all these connected trains are also being left with continuous delay for Shimla Railway Station.

Train passengers going from Una district to Daulatpur Chowk will be most troubled –
Sabarmati Express, which runs from Ahmedabad (Gujarat) to Una Daulatpur railway station, has been canceled on Thursday. According to senior officials of Ambala Railway Board, Sabarmati Express train has been canceled for only one day due to repair work. Due to foggy weather, Sabarmati Express train was already continuously reaching Una railway station with delay. It has also been learned from senior officials of Ambala Railway Board that an important decision has been taken to temporarily increase the number of sleeper class coaches in Sabarmati Express.

IMD Shimla is predicting a great start to the New Year with heavy rains and snowfall in the capital of Himachal Pradesh, as well as in all the high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh. Meteorological Center Shimla has predicted bad weather in eight high and middle hill districts of Himachal Pradesh on December 30, December 31 and January 1. Due to the continuous activity of Western Disturbance, there are full possibilities of change in the weather of Himachal Pradesh. In the plain districts of Himachal Pradesh, Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Kangra, the overall weather is expected to remain clear till January 2.
The minimum temperature of Kukumseri on Tuesday night was minus 10.4 degrees Celsius, while the temperature of Samdo was minus 1.4 degrees Celsius recorded by IMD Shimla. On Wednesday, the weather remained completely pleasant in the capital of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla, as well as in all the areas of Himachal Pradesh.
The maximum temperature was 25.2 degrees Celsius in Una district, 23.0 degrees Celsius in Kangra district, 23.3 degrees Celsius in Chamba district, 22.5 degrees Celsius in Solan district, 21.8 degrees Celsius in Nahan, 22.2 degrees Celsius in Sundernagar assembly constituency, 20.0 degrees Celsius in Bhuntar.
The maximum temperatures of 21.0 degrees Celsius in Dharamshala, 18.9 degrees Celsius in Mandi district, 16.5 degrees Celsius in capital Shimla, 14.4 degrees Celsius in Dalhousie, 14.4 degrees Celsius in Kalpa and 11.0 degrees Celsius in Kukumseri were recorded by IMD Shimla.
