Sensation in Himachal: Retired policeman fired bullets, father died…son is serious
A retired policeman opened fire on a father and son after a minor altercation in Kuhar Chhan under Amb subdivision of Una district of Himachal Pradesh. The father died during treatment at PGI Chandigarh, while the son is undergoing treatment at PGI itself. The deceased has been identified as Rajiv Kumar son of Roshan Lal resident of Kuhar Chhan.
Una, October 30: A retired policeman opened fire on a father and son after a minor altercation in Kuhar Chhan under Amb subdivision of Una district of Himachal Pradesh. The father died during treatment at PGI Chandigarh, while the son is undergoing treatment at PGI itself. The deceased has been identified as Rajiv Kumar son of Roshan Lal resident of Kuhar Chhan. Police has taken the body into custody and started further action. Also, on the basis of the statements of eyewitness Priyanka Devi, the murder accused has been arrested and investigation has been started.

In a complaint given to the police, Priyanka Devi said that on Tuesday night Rajiv Singh, his wife Rekha Rani and son Aditya Mankotia were walking on the road with the dogs after having dinner. Meanwhile, a person named Hardev Singh, retired from police, living in their neighborhood, came to the spot and started abusing. During this, he pointed a gun at them. When Rajiv Kumar stopped him from doing so, he fired the bullet. The bullet hit Rajiv directly near his chest, due to which Rajiv fell on the ground.
18-year-old son Aditya Mankotia ran towards his father for rescue. But the accused Hardev Singh fired the second shot at Aditya and injured him seriously. Hearing the sound of gunshots, the local people immediately came out of the house. The injured father and son were immediately taken to Civil Hospital Amb. Seeing the critical condition of both, the doctors gave first aid and then referred them to Una Hospital. But due to the deteriorating condition of both of them in Una, they were referred to PGI. Rajiv Kumar died in PGI.
On Wednesday, the police team also visited the spot. Una Superintendent of Police Rakesh Singh said that the police reached the spot and arrested the accused Hardev and seized the gun.
