Shimla, August 26: Security has been beefed up for the 10-day monsoon session of Himachal Pradesh Assembly starting from Tuesday. This time, apart from 600 policemen, home guards and QRT jawans have been deployed in the assembly session, who will take care of internal and external security. SP Shimla Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi has instructed the police personnel to work diligently. This time the police has made such preparations that even a bird will not be able to fly here.
During the monsoon session, there will be a complete ban on anyone carrying weapons in the premises and central forces and armed jawans will also not be allowed to enter the assembly premises. PSOs and drivers will also remain outside the assembly in their vehicles. Metal detectors have been installed at the entrances of the assembly. Two special commandos have been deployed at the VIP gates.
Apart from this, along with dividing the assembly premises into five sectors, strict monitoring will also be done through CCTV and drones. The police has also prepared a plan for parking of vehicles, in which arrangements have been made to properly park the vehicles of ministers, MLAs and officers. No vehicle will be allowed to enter without a pass. Vehicles will be allowed to enter only after checking at Kennedy Chowk. For this, 676 police and home guard personnel have been deployed, while apart from the main three entrance gates, strong security arrangements have been made at ten gates.
SP Shimla Sanjeev Gandhi said that the police is fully prepared for the assembly monsoon session and the police personnel have taken charge. Necessary instructions have been issued to the police officers and employees deployed in the assembly duty.

The monsoon session of the assembly will run from 27 August to 9 September. A total of 10 meetings will be held during the session. The Assembly Secretariat has received more than 850 questions from the members for the session. The monsoon session is expected to be stormy. This time there will be no independent MLA in the assembly. 9 newly elected MLAs who won the two recent assembly by-elections will be seen in the House. Among them are six Congress MLAs and three BJP MLAs. In the 68-member assembly, the ruling Congress has 40 MLAs and BJP has 28 MLAs. The special thing is that for the first time a husband-wife pair will also be seen in the assembly. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and his wife Kamlesh Thakur will be seen together in the house.
