Chennai-based EV startup Raptee.HV today launched India’s first high-voltage electric motorcycle, developed with technology being used in electric cars across the world. Called the Raptee T 30, it is the first-of-its-kind motorcycle that uses the universal charging standards used by cars. In simple terms, it uses the CCS2 charging port. The motorcycle is priced at ₹ 2.39 lakh, ex-showroom.

Raptee.HV T 30: Range and performance
The IDC estimated range of the Raptee.HV motorcycle is around 200 km and its actual range on a single charge is over 150 km. The company claims that it can accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in less than 3.5 seconds.

Raptee.HV T 30: Battery and charging time
The 5.4 kWh battery pack is IP67-rated, and takes 60 minutes to charge from 20-80 percent using a 3.3 kW charger. Using a fast charger, this can be done in just 30 minutes. Also, the brand is offering a warranty of 8 years i.e. 80,000 km on the battery pack.

Raptee.HV T 30: Specifications
The T 30 rides on 17-inch rims with a 110 section tyre at the front and a 150 section tyre at the rear. Apart from this, the suspension includes 37 mm USD forks at the front and telescopic shock absorbers at the rear. Braking is handled by a 320 mm rotor at the front and a 230 mm disc at the rear.

Raptee.HV T 30: Colours and Features
The motorcycle has advanced software features for a better riding experience, including 3 riding modes and a 7-inch LCD instrument cluster. It is also equipped with connected features. It has four colours – Horizon Red, Arctic White, Mercury Grey and Eclipse Black.

Raptee.HV T 30: Delivery Timeline
Starting deliveries in Chennai and Bangalore from January, Raptee.HV plans to expand to other key cities based on the trend of mid-premium motorcycles and adoption of electric mobility in these select markets. Raptee.HV is coming up with a factory-integrated experience centre, “Tech Store.HV” at the headquarters in Chennai, which will offer a complete immersive experience including factory tours showing how motorcycles are made. Raptee.HV will have a wide range of direct to consumer offerings in addition to the traditional brick and mortar model to provide a seamless experience to customers. Dinesh Arjun, Co-Founder and CEO, Raptee.HV said, “Our goal was never to create an electric version of an ICE motorcycle, but to truly do justice to motorcycling with pioneering technology. We have taken the core of advanced electric car technology and engineered it for motorcycles. Launching India’s first high-voltage electric motorcycle was a technical challenge from the very beginning. Over the last 5 years, the amazing team at Raptee has had to build the entire architecture from scratch to make HV possible on a 2 wheeler. The fact that we have succeeded is a testament to what can be achieved with the right vision and focus on innovation. We believe our HV technology is that missing piece of the puzzle that will accelerate the electrification of motorcycles and revolutionize the way motorcycles are manufactured in the future.”

Raptee.HV has completed its Pre-Series A round of funding led by Bluehill Capital and Artha99 Ventures, and is in the final stages of raising its Series A round of funds from new and existing investors to ramp up its production, expand dealerships and launch e-bikes in other states, thereby fueling its growth in the electric mobility market.
