Rajgarh: Father lit the funeral pyre, mother unconscious… the only brother of two sisters immersed in the five elements with empty wrists

Nahan/Rajgarh, June 12: The valley became sad with the last journey of a brave son in Palu village, located in the beautiful valleys of the beautiful deodar forests in Rajgarh subdivision of Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh. 30-year-old Lance Naik Praveen Sharma left for the eternal journey by merging into the five elements at around 5 pm.
The last rites of martyr Praveen Sharma were performed with military honors. The army contingent saluted. He was to be crowned after a few months, but he came home wrapped in the tricolor. After staying at home for some time, he left for Moksha Dham. Everyone shuddered amidst the screams of the parents. The martyr’s body reached Moksha Dham amidst the slogans of “Praveen Sharma Amar Rahe”.
Father Rajesh Sharma lit the funeral pyre of his only son. Earlier, tribute was paid to the martyr in Rajgarh. The entire market was closed to honour the martyr and thousands of people stood on the roadside. On entering the Rajgarh border, hundreds of people paid tribute to the martyr in Yashwant Nagar too. Thousands of eyes were moist, which were watching the elderly father cremate the body of the only son of the family.
Let us tell you that martyr Praveen Sharma had joined the army in the year 2014 and after getting promoted, he reached the rank of Lance Naik. Father Rajesh Sharma is a farmer and also runs a shop in the village. His mother Rekha Sharma is a housewife, while his grandmother Champa Sharma is also healthy and is shocked by the news of the martyrdom of his grandson.
According to the martyr’s father, martyr Praveen Sharma was to get married in October after two months. His parents are unable to believe that their only son has been martyred.
Earlier also, there have been nine freedom fighters from this village, which is called Veerbhoomi, and now the village has also embraced martyr Praveen Sharma in its land. Praveen Sharma, who was preparing to get married on 06 October, was martyred in the defense of his motherland. The martyr’s bravery was being saluted in the entire state. Tributes were also being paid to Brave Son on social media.
During the last journey, the sky echoed with slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Praveen Bhai Amar Rahe’ on the entire way. Slogans of Pakistan Murdabad were also being raised. This was an unimaginable loss for Praveen Sharma’s parents. Their only son sacrificed his life in the service of the country. This pain was unbearable for his two sisters, their only brother left the world just a few days before Rakshabandhan.
The DSP and SDM of Rajgarh received the martyr’s body on the border of Rajgarh. On behalf of the administration, MLA Reena Kashyap, SDM Rajgarh Rajkumar Thakur, local head Reena Thakur and a large number of people present on the occasion gave a final farewell to martyr Praveen. The martyr’s body was airlifted from Srinagar to Chandigarh, after which the body was transported to the native village by road.

On 10 August 2024, Lance Naik Praveen Sharma was martyred in an encounter with terrorists in the dense forests of Kokernag in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. The operation, known as ‘Rakshak’, was part of the anti-terrorism operation. Two soldiers and a civilian lost their lives in this encounter. The Indian Army saluted the martyrdom of Praveen Sharma and his companion and said that their valor and sacrifice will always be remembered.
Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also expressed their condolences with the families of the martyrs in this difficult time. The sacrifice of martyr Praveen Sharma is proof that our soldiers are always ready to protect the country, and their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
