For the first time, the Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded a woman and a Bollywood celebrity in the form of Kangana Ranaut, who will take on Vikramaditya Singh, a scion of the erstwhile Rampur ‘royal family’ and son of six-time Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.

Both the rivals have also campaigned aggressively.Taking aim at Kangana, Vikramaditya asked her vision regarding the development of Mandi parliamentary constituency.

Retaliating, Kangana had called Vikramaditya ‘Chhota Pappu’.

Kangana asked him why he remained silent when Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu took ‘anti-Mandi decisions’ like stopping the Rs 250 crore Shiv Dhan project, reducing the jurisdiction of Mandi University and suppressing the Sundernagar airfield project.

Kangana’s main agenda includes improving connectivity in remote tribal areas and popularizing local cuisine and traditional attire, besides restarting all stalled projects and promoting women-centric rural tourism in Seraj and Karsog.
