Kullu, July 14: Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra, one of the toughest religious pilgrimages in North India, has officially started on Sunday. This pilgrimage will continue till July 27. To inaugurate the pilgrimage, the president of the Yatra Trust and DC Kullu Torul S Ravish reached the base camp Singh Garh on July 13 by walking 3 km from Jaon, Baringcha. There she participated in the evening Shiv Aarti with the Shiv devotees.

During the evening Shiv Aarti, Torul S Ravish was accompanied by Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee Senior Vice President and Founder of Yatra Trust Buddhi Singh Thakur, Zila Parishad Chairman Kullu Pankaj Parmar, Vice President of Yatra Trust SDM Nirmand Manmohan Singh, Tehsildar Nirmand Jaigopal Sharma, DSP Chandrashekhar Kayath, Trust Member Govind Sharma, Zila Parishad Member Purna Thakur, and Pradhan of local Panchayat Sushma Katoch and Deputy Pradhan Om Prakash Thakur, Deputy Pradhan of Juagi Ranjeet Thakur. Yatra Trust Chairman and DC Kullu Torul S Ravish inaugurated the langar and served langar to the Shiv devotees with her own hands.

DC Kullu flagged off the group –

On Sunday morning at 5 AM, DC Kullu Torul S Ravish sent off the first batch of 70 devotees for Mahadev’s holy abode Shrikhand Kailash Mountain. By 8 AM, about 1100 Shiva devotees had left for Shrikhand Kailash Mountain.

DC Kullu said that for this time’s Shrikhand Yatra, complete arrangements have been made for the pilgrims by the Kullu district administration. The route of the journey has been completely prepared and water has also been arranged on the way.

During the journey, police, rescue, SDRF, medical and revenue teams will be stationed at every base camp. The DC has appealed to the Shiva devotees not to consume intoxicants during the journey and take special care of cleanliness.
