Nutritionist suggests easy ways to avoid unhealthy eating during the festive season

Nutritionist Lovneet Batra shared festive dessert hacks

It is quite common for people to binge on calories during the festive season. When you are surrounded by snacks, sweets and other delicious foods, it becomes difficult to control your cravings. Overindulging in these delicious delicacies can lead to unhealthy weight gain. To avoid gaining extra kilos during the festivals, it is essential to monitor what and how much you eat. In her latest Instagram post, nutritionist Lovneet Batra shares her tips for eating mindfully. In the video shared, Lovneet says, “Eating healthy during the festive season can be quite difficult, but for me, three things are definitely game changers. Number one is hydration. I make sure I start my day with a litre of water and keep drinking warm water throughout the day.”

“Also for the fibre, I eat a bowl of vegetables before I leave the house. Being a vegetarian, I want to make sure I don’t eat high-fat proteins while out. So for breakfast I eat a bowl of sprouts. I drink buttermilk throughout the day and eat homemade low-fat paneer,” added Lovneet Batra.

The caption to the post read, “The festive season is a time to celebrate, spend time with family, have fun and of course eat good food! Does this mean we completely abstain from our traditional festive food? Absolutely not. Instead of planning to go on a post-festival detox, why not focus on our eating habits on the occasion itself?”

In a previous post, nutritionist Lovneet Batra shared festive dessert hacks. She claims that with three simple tips, one can enjoy their holiday treats without any guilt. First and foremost, consume fibre to keep your day balanced and feel satiated for longer. Then, you can also add some protein and fat to your dessert so that it is satisfying and balanced. Lavneet said squeezing some lemon into the dessert also helps lower glucose levels.

Try these food hacks to enjoy the festive season to the fullest without compromising on your health.
