Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has congratulated the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for the successful launch of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) C-55. Musk wrote on Twitter – Congratulations! ISRO successfully launched two satellites of Singapore with PSLV-C55 rocket at 2:19 pm on Saturday.
TeLEOS-2 and LUMELITE-4 were placed in low Earth orbit by the mission launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. This was the 57th flight of the 228-tonne PSLV. ISRO is considered a cost effective and reliable option for satellite launches worldwide.
It is a tele communication satellite. The Singapore government has prepared it in collaboration with the engineering students there. It is capable of providing day-night and all-weather coverage. It weighs 741 kg. It gives information related to disaster management.
It has been built in partnership with the Infocomm Research Institute (I2R) of Singapore and the Satellite Technology and Research Center (STAR) of the National University of Singapore. It aims to benefit the global shipping community. It is of 16 kg.
In addition to the two customer satellites, the mission also included the PSLV Orbital Experimental Module (POEM). Actually, PSLV is a four-stage rocket. Its three stages fall into the ocean. The last i.e. the fourth stage, which is also called PS4, after the satellite is delivered to its orbit, the garbage of space remains. ISRO has developed this fourth stage of the rocket called POEM to perform the test.

Payloads have been added to the fourth stage of the rocket, which do not separate. In this mission, seven non-separable payloads from ISRO, Bellatrix, Dhruva Space and Indian Institute of Astrophysics were attached to the fourth stage of the rocket. POEM operates from solar panels and is also fitted with a Navigation Guidance and Control (NGC) system. This helps in stabilization.
ISRO launched its mission a few days after the failure of Elon Musk’s company SpaceX’s Starship mission. The Starship exploded 30 kilometers above the Gulf of Mexico four minutes after lift-off on Thursday. It was launched from Boca Chica, Texas at around 7 pm. This was the first orbital test of Starship. It is the largest and most powerful rocket in the world. Although the flying of this rocket is a big success.
