The people of tribal areas have been given many special rights by the constitution so that the people of these areas can join the main stream of the society and preserve their prosperous culture.
For this purpose, the members of Kinnaur’s social service organization no means no held meetings with various organizations of Lahaul valley. In these meetings, the rights of tribal people, Forest Rights Act 2005, Paisa Act 1996 and side effects of mega hydel projects were discussed.
Ringing Hirapa, social worker and president of the JIS Sangharsh Samiti, said that the purpose of this discussion is to get the rights given to the tribal people implemented in the true sense.
A social movement has started in district Kinnaur, in which especially the youth of Kinnaur have run a campaign, they have given a slogan no means no. All the members of his goal committee have reached Lahaul today. All the activist people in Lahaul, especially the forest rights, the money act, the law regarding the rights of the tribes, which has been specially made to empower the tribes. It is implemented literally. Not happening.
We discussed in great detail on those subjects, how their implementation is not being done in Kinnaur. How the implementation is not being done in Lahaul Spiti. How we have to work further jointly in the coming days ahead. So that we can implement all these tribal rights literally.
Dinesh Negi, a member of the no means organization, said that the organization is constantly trying to create an awareness among the tribal people about FRI, Paisa act and protection of tribal rights.
In tribal areas like ours, we came here with the purpose that the awareness that we have as a tribe, whether it is over money or over FRI, should reach the people. Come on stage and talk.
Understanding all those things about tribal law, we want that whoever comes on one platform, be it Lahaul Spiti, Kinnaur or Bangi Verma in the coming time, all of them should talk about you on one platform. For this purpose we are traveling or roaming here.
