The eighth budget of Municipal Corporation Dharamshala was presented by Mayor Neenu Sharma on Tuesday. This budget of Rs 141.23 crore has been passed unanimously in the meeting.

Municipal Corporation Dharamshala Commissioner Zafar Iqbal, Deputy Mayor Tejendra Kaur, Joint Commissioner Surendra Singh along with former mayor and all the councilors were present in the budget meeting.

At present no new tax has been imposed in the budget.

However, now survey is being conducted in the old as well as new area of MC. After this house tax will be imposed.

At the same time, in the budget, a total budget of Rs 1 crore has been kept for all the wards, a total of Rs 17 crore. At the same time, Rs 60 crore has been earmarked to be received from the government for the merge area in MC for sewerage.

Now a provision has been made to upgrade Gausadan Sarah to make it a home for destitute animals, for which an initial budget of Rs 1.5 crore has been kept. Along with this, a budget of Rs 7 crore has been kept for cleaning system, Rs 1 crore 20 lakh for parking, Rs 2 crore for Commissioner-Additional Commissioner residence, Rs 2 crore for shopping complex and Rs 30 lakh for toilet maintenance. Apart from this, Rs 1 crore has been kept for natural calamities, out of which a provision has been made to provide Rs 10 lakh to the councilor considering the situation. It has been said that the government will provide a budget of Rs 5 crore for the solar project. With this, the focus is going to be on increasing self-reliance by generating electricity.
