Mandi: SPU Mandi Vice Chancellor Professor Anupama Singh will be BJP's Candidate From Mandi Parliamentary Seat

Sardar Patel University Mandi Vice Chancellor Professor Anupama Singh is considered a strong contender for BJP ticket from Mandi parliamentary seat. According to information received from BJP sources, Professor Anupama Singh has so far presented her claim by meeting BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda and many senior leaders of the party and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

Professor Anupama Singh is originally from Mandi district and was married in the capital Shimla. But for a long time, Professor Anupama Singh has kept Mandi district as her workplace and is providing her services in Mandi district only.

Professor Anupama Singh has 24 years of administrative and teaching experience. Professor Anupama Singh’s father Dr. RK Raju and Mother Veena Raju are counted among the senior leaders of BJP. Professor Anupama Singh herself has been associated with ABPV during her college days but had joined government services since 1996.

Anupama Singh was very promising in studies and has been a topper of HPU. After doing PhD in Public Administration, she has also been a professor in HPU for a long time. Along with this, Professor Anupama Singh has also been the Director of Canadian Studies.

Professor Anupama has played an important role in the formation of Sardar Patel University Mandi, Professor Anupama has visited 35 countries –

When the Himachal Government was planning to open the second university of Himachal Pradesh in Mandi district, Anupama Singh also played an important role in it. The Government of Himachal Pradesh appointed Professor Anupama Singh as the Vice Chancellor of Sardar Patel University and was given the responsibility of putting Sardar Patel University on its feet. 55 year old Professor Anupama Singh has so far visited 35 countries, most of which have been based on academic and administrative work. 12 people have done PhD from Professor Anupama Singh, while 8 PhD students are registered and 3 are in post-doctoral work. Professor Anupama Singh has also written 7 books.

Being an educated woman, she is considered a strong contender for BJP –

BJP is thinking of betting on a large number of women in this elections. Because BJP has agreed to give 33 percent reservation to women. Therefore, the Bharatiya Janata Party can also try to reach out to half of the country’s population by giving tickets to women in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. In such a situation, BJP can pay more attention to those women who are educated as well as experienced and think of working with a new vision. On the basis of these things, Anupama Singh’s claim can be considered stronger.

On the other hand, there is every possibility of Pratibha Singh being the Congress candidate from Mandi parliamentary seat. There is also a possibility that there may be a tough contest between two women on this seat.
