Mandi, November 22: A major success has been achieved in the special campaign being run by Mandi District Police against drug abuse. The SIU unit of the police raided Ota village in Gutkar area and recovered 203.1 grams of heroin. Suraj Kumar, resident of Segla, Bagachanogi, Mandi District has been arrested in this case.
The police have registered a case against the accused under section 21 of the NDPS Act. The price of the recovered heroin is estimated to be around Rs 12 to 14 lakh in the international market.
SP Mandi Sakshi Verma, while giving information, said that interrogation of the accused is going on and statements of witnesses are being recorded. The help of the Economic Offences Wing will also be taken for detailed investigation of the case.
