BJP leader of opposition and former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur has single-handedly ensured the victory of BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut, because Mandi parliamentary constituency is the home constituency of former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur.
BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut’s statements during the election campaign have grabbed a lot of headlines and it seemed from these statements that the BJP candidate might come on the back foot, but the people of Mandi Lok Sabha have given a mandate to Mandi’s daughter Kangana by electing her for their future of five years.
After winning the Mandi parliamentary constituency with a huge margin, BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut gave full credit for the victory to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as the hard work of Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur and said that her victory is a victory of the honour and self-respect of Mandi.BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut has also praised the command handled by Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur during the election campaign.BJP candidate Kangana has today snatched this seat from Congress by defeating the Congress candidate.
It is worth mentioning that after the sudden tragic death of BJP’s Ram Swaroop Sharma, who was elected as MP from Mandi parliamentary constituency, Congress candidate Pratibha Singh surprised everyone by winning the by-election held on Mandi Lok Sabha seat. Due to Bollywood Queen Kangana Ranaut jumping into the election fray from Mandi parliamentary constituency, the whole world was waiting for the result of Mandi parliamentary constituency.
According to the final result released by the Election Commission, BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut has won the election of Mandi Lok Sabha seat by 74,755 votes.BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut got 5,37,022 votes and her total vote percentage was recorded at 52.87 percent.Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh, who came second, got 4,62,267 votes and his vote percentage was recorded as 45.51 percent.
Along with this, other candidates from Mandi Parliamentary seat Dr. Prakash Chand, Narendra Kumar, Rahi Gupta, Subhash Mohan, Vinay Kumar, Mahesh Saini, Dinesh Kumar, Ashutosh Mahant got 4393, 2447, 1051, 974, 690, 654, 381 and 286 votes respectively.NOTA got 5,645 votes from Mandi parliamentary seat.
The most worrying thing for the Congress party was that as soon as the postal ballots were opened, Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh lagged behind and BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut got 9559 postal ballots while Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh got 8507 postal ballots.
A total of 10,15,810 votes were counted from Mandi parliamentary seat.BJP had surprised everyone by giving ticket to Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut from Mandi parliamentary constituency.Very few people would know that Bollywood Queen Kangana Ranaut has also played the role of late Jayalalithaa in films and now Kangana herself wants to untangle the web of politics.Kangana Ranaut has been awarded the National Award and Padma Shri for her brilliant acting in Bollywood films. BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut has also been campaigning for Ram Mandir and Hindutva.
