Mandi: Another son of Veerbhoomi martyred, Havildar Suresh Kumar drank the cup of martyrdom
Another son of Veerbhoomi Himachal has drunk the cup of martyrdom while protecting the borders of the country. 42-year-old Havildar Suresh Kumar of Baggi Tungal village, falling under Sadar subdivision of Mandi district, has been martyred during duty in Leh Ladakh. On Thursday, martyr Havildar Suresh Kumar was cremated with military honors in his native village.
Mandi, November 14: Another son of Veerbhoomi Himachal has drunk the cup of martyrdom while protecting the borders of the country. 42-year-old Havildar Suresh Kumar of Baggi Tungal village, falling under Sadar subdivision of Mandi district, has been martyred during duty in Leh Ladakh. On Thursday, martyr Havildar Suresh Kumar was cremated with military honors in his native village. 17-year-old son Piyush saluted his martyred father and lit the funeral pyre. Earlier, as soon as the body reached home, the whole area echoed with slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Shaheed Suresh Kumar Amar Rahe.
During this, hundreds of people including family members gave the last farewell to martyr Suresh Kumar.
Martyr Suresh Kumar’s wife Dhani Devi, mother Promila Devi, 19-year-old daughter Shabnam and son Piyush gave him a final farewell by saluting him. Earlier, as soon as the body reached his native village after noon, the school children and residents of the area present on the road paid floral tribute to martyr Havildar Suresh Kumar with slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai.
Let us tell you that martyr Havildar Suresh Kumar was serving in the 18 Dogra Regiment for the last 25 years and these days he was posted in Leh Ladakh. While serving in the battle field, Suresh Kumar’s health suddenly deteriorated and he said goodbye to this world. According to the family members, Havildar Suresh Kumar had gone to Leh Ladakh after cutting his leave just 2 days before Diwali.
On the other hand, ADC Mandi Rohit Rathore said that the administration has received the news of the martyrdom of the soldier from the army. In the letter received from the army, it has been mentioned as a battle field casualty.
Governor Himachal Pradesh Shiv Pratap Shukla, CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and former CM Jairam Thakur have also paid tribute to the martyrdom of Havildar Suresh Kumar. Paying tribute on his social media handle, the CM wrote, “His sacrifice is a symbol of supreme dedication and courage towards the country, which will always be remembered with respect and gratitude.”
